Anderson History

Named after a former Superintendent, Milburn P. Anderson, Anderson Middle School opened in 1956 as a junior high school (grades 7-9). It was transformed into a middle school (grades 6-8) in the late 1970's. Currently Anderson has 500 students.

Anderson Middle School offers its students instruction in the four main academic areas, math, science, social studies and language arts.  In addition, students experience a variety of elective classes such as Physical Education, Art, Computers, Robotics, Family and Consumer Science, Spanish, French, and Music (Band, Orchestra, and Choir).  Other than the 6th Grade Rotation electives which run every 10 weeks,  all other elective classes run for either a half year or full year.  We believe our programming provides our students with a well rounded comprehensive educational experience.
